How sources work — uploads, shared NATSPEC index, auto-derived fields
Guide
How to use
Upload your licensed Natspec worksection text per section code (.docx, .txt, or paste). When you generate a specification, sections that have a source loaded will use that exact content — only the 2. PRODUCTS clause is replaced with a cross-reference to your Material Schedule. Sections without a loaded source are flagged [REVIEW: NO SOURCE] to complete manually.

Bulk upload: zip up your worksection files named with the 4-digit code (e.g. 0434 Flat cladding.docx) and upload them all at once.

Sources are stored per project — each project keeps its own worksection library, so you can use different versions/editions on different projects.
NATSPEC index
Contents — workgroups and section titles
Upload your NATSPEC contents list to make workgroup labels and section titles match your subscription exactly. Accepted formats:
  • CSV with columns code, title, group (optional description)
  • JSON — flat array [{c, t, g, d}] or grouped [{g, s:[{c, t, d}]}]
  • .docx contents page — text lines starting with the 4-digit code
Schedule fields
Auto-derive required fields from your worksections
Upload the zip of your NATSPEC worksection .docx files. The app reads each worksection's selection schedule and sets the exact required fields per section — so adding a material prompts for everything that section needs. Runs on your device; the worksection content stays in your private storage, never in the app.
Generate Specification Select worksections to include in the construction issue
Specification scope
Choose which worksections to include. Sections with schedule items are auto-selected and cross-reference the Material Schedule. Sections with no items keep their uploaded source content, or are flagged [REVIEW: NO SOURCE] if none is loaded. Standard project sections (Preliminaries, General Requirements) are pre-selected for a complete construction issue.

Revit Keynote Export
One-time Revit setup: point Annotate → Keynote → Keynoting Settings at your project's keynote .txt. After that, click Save to project folder here (pick that file once — later saves overwrite it), then Reload in Revit. The SpecSchedule Revit add-in can do the Reload automatically.

Project abbreviations
Exported under the ABV parent in the Revit keynote tree — separate from material codes. e.g. AFFL — Above Finished Floor Level. Click ✎ on a row to edit it.

Sync
Cloud sync
Your projects, worksection sources and certificate files are stored in the cloud so they survive browser resets and follow you to any computer. Local storage keeps working offline — the cloud is a mirror. Sign in to your account above and it's automatic — no URL or token to enter.
Administration
NATSPEC worksection libraryAdmin only
For the practice admin only. NATSPEC worksections are licensed content — the admin uploads them once here and the backend shares them with every user automatically. Everyone else just generates specs from the pre-uploaded library; nothing to set up.
Maintenance
Advanced / maintenance
Occasional housekeeping tools — most users never need these.
